The Altra Via Olympus features EGO MAX cushioning. This is Altra's most cushioned midsole foam. While you'll feel very protected by the thick midsole, there's a slight firmness to the foam. This compliments the rocker shaped midsole and aids forward momentum.
Altra's Balanced Cushioning means there's no difference in height between the heel and forefoot. This creates a stable underfoot feel.
Upper Fit
The upper of the Altra Via Olympus features an Original FootShape Fit. While all Altra running shoes are shaped to the natural shape of feet, the Original FootShape Fit is the most spacious and widest. This means the Via Olympus offers lots of space in the toe box for your feet to splay. This is great for runners with broad feet, bunions or Morton's Neuroma.

Ideal Run Type
We recommend the Altra Men's Via Olympus for slower to steady paced runs. That's because the thick rocker shaped midsole helps reduce the workload on your lower leg area. We think this is particularly helpful on the days when you're feeling tired. It's one of the best Altra road running shoes for long distance runs.
The rocker shaped midsole and wide toe box also makes the Altra Via Olympus a great option for anyone with foot problems. Such as plantar fasciitis, bunion pain and Morton's Neuroma. We think the all black colourway looks great for running and daily wear.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
